Sleep
Many of you believe we do not sleep. That we stand ever alert, like statues in the dark. But I tell you, even trees rest. Though we do not dream as you do, we follow the sun and stars with more faith than you know. As dusk descends, our branches relax, and our leaves droop slightly—sometimes by inches. This nightly movement, this gentle settling, is part of our circadian rhythm, much like your own. It was only in recent years that your kind confirmed what we have always known: that even rooted beings have cycles. The light stirs us, the dark soothes us, and in the hush of night, we breathe a little slower. Why does this matter? Because rest is not weakness. It is wisdom. Even the tallest oak must yield to the turning of the Earth. So if you feel tired when the sun sets—it is only natural. You’re in good company.
